We have had the privilege of working with organizations who understand the value of diverse perspectives in healthcare, particularly as it relates to genetics and precision health.

The LabCorp Charitable Foundation, established in 2020, supports LabCorp’s “strategic mission to improve health and improve lives with contributions focused on health and welfare, education and community.” LabCorp recognizes the value in supporting individuals from historically excluded and marginalized populations in their pursuit of graduate education in genetic counseling. Accordingly, the LabCorp Charitable Foundation has guaranteed funds totaling $50,000 over a two-year period to support the training of individuals who are underrepresented in the field of genetic counseling.

Novant Health’s Office of Diversity, Inclusion & Equity is partnering in a way that uniquely helps to develop experiences and skills in undergraduate students through funding for the Summer Scholars Program. In working closely with the UNCG Genetic Counseling training program and practicing counselors at Novant Health in Winston Salem, NS, the Summer Scholars Program will introduce students from historically excluded and underrepresented populations to genetic counseling and healthcare genomic research over the course of 10 weeks. Enrolled students will complete a research project in Greensboro for the first 8 weeks of the program and spend the final 2 weeks shadowing clinical counselors. Student housing and stipend will be provided to offset any associated costs.
